November Race Report
Well November turned out to be a busy month for our members race wise.
It all started the 1st weekend of the month with Laura.C & Gillian. D getting 1st & 2nd in their age categories respectively at the Delamere Forrest Trail Half Marathon. Also on the fist Sunday was the inaugural running of the Crazy Legs Fairway 5 race with8 members taking part in this new race. Special shout out to Nick.C , Paul.B & Samantha who all posted podium finishes for their age cat’. I’m sure it’ll become a regular and popular event on the club race calendar.
On to week 2 and it was race number 2 of the Manchester Area Cross Country League at Kenworthy Woods. 8 club members (4in the women’s race and 4 for the Men’s) represented the club for an afternoon of running in the mud.
The second Sunday of November is of course Remembrance Day and while a number of our members embarked on the traditional club Remembrance ride to a local Remembrance parade to pay their respects, Paul.C, Emma & Andy made the trip up to Southport for the Windmill 10k Remembrance Run.
Meanwhile Steve.B was catching some last minute winter sunshine by heading over to Greece to post a fantastic time at the Athens Marathon, yes it starts at the place that gave the race distance its name.
Sunday 17thwas the date for firm favourite & popular race for the club, the Conway Half Marathon. Always well represented by members, 13 made the trip over to Wales to run the 13 miles which includes running up & around the Great Orme.
With Christmas rapidly approaching the 24th saw the first of this year’s festive races, the ever-popular Wilmslow Festive 10k. A great turn out with 19 of us joining the masses of Christmas trees, Santas, presents, Snowmen and even a Christmas dinner run around the streets of Wilmslow and surrounding areas. Meanwhile Nick.R managed to squeeze in one last Duathlon of the year at Dunham Massey.
November was capped off with Laura.C, Emma & Andy.T heading back over to Wales to take part in the Betws-y-Coed Trail Challenge Half Marathon.
